The string trimmer was returned to the big orange box store. I bought the blower and string trimmer together for about the same price as the trimmer alone.

In November I bought a Ryobi drill that came with two compact 18-volt LiIon batteries. I already had a charged battery, full-size. When I finally tried the drill using a compact battery, both batteries would not charge. They were replaced under warranty within the week at a local service shop. The drill works fine. And I have TWO chargers and several 18-volt batteries, 3 of which are NiCad and 4 are LiIon.

The guy at the shop told me that using the NiCad charger on LiIon batteries would kill the battery. It is possible to charge both battery types using the green LiIon charger.

I know I saw a concrete vibrator attachment in the box of the weather radio I bought about a month ago. But now that I am really looking into one I cant find one. Craftsman website has nothing on it. Any ideas?

You are right on with the blower, if it didnt cost me but $15 I would have taken it back. I have the impact 1/2 works great! Drills all of them I have wonderful. Caulk gun terriffic. The new 4 battery charger great but only charges one at a time fellas. Jig saw great, flash light is a flashlight but they work well. The circular saws right up to the 71/4 awsome. I love the Craftsmen corless tools so may to choose from and there is no change of the platform in sight> PERFECT. Has anyone tried the chain saw yet? That would be my next buy. Thank you

SO what do I now do with my drill/driver whose NiCad batteries will no longer charge? Evidently, from what you had to say about the chargers (http://toolboxhero.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/11113000.jpg), my drill is the first 19.2-volt drill, model model 973.113400. Further, a LiIon battery will not fit this drill. What a waste!

The LiIon battery used in the Ryobi line trimmers will replace the NiCad battery in my Black&Decker 'sweeper'/blower. LiIon chargers don't overcharge. Shame on B&D for shipping its sweeper with a charger that isn't smart enough to quit when the voltage reaches charged status.

Whoa! My mistake!

The LiIon battery in the string trimmer fits any of the other “One” tools made by Ryobi. My drill that came with NiCad batteries and the circular saw that came with both can use the LiIon battery– with longer run time and less frequent charging due to its going dead while sitting around waiting for a warm hand.

@BK, I always use my Craftsman shop vac to suck up around the shop, but I use the Blower/Vac to clean off the saws and router table. You are right, it doesn't have a lot of force but that works well for me to blow sawdust because it doesn't get it airborne like using an air compressor.

For vacumning it has about the same suction as a dustbuster.
