Ok, who needs a review of a light?  Well, if you are like me you are looking for a replacement for your Model 11391 Worklight.  You would really like to find a replacement that works as well but doesn’t go through bulbs so quickly.

I have been waiting to try this LED light and Sears sent me one a few weeks ago.

I wanted to try this light because most LED lights while energy efficient are not very bright.  I wanted a light that was as bright as the old Model 11391, but much more dependable.

This new light features a 1 watt high intensity LED.  The lumens are not specified, but during my tests I can say that it is much brighter than my 160 lumen Craftsman LED Flexible Light Model 41-5540.

I like the compact size.  You can swivel the lamp 180 degrees to point down, up or anywhere in between.  It has a convenient hanger built into the handle that folds out of the way when not needed.

The lense is clear and made with a plastic that won’t yellow over time.

Operational Tests:

I did four “tests” with this light.  A Distance test and three duration tests using the C3 DieHard NiCad battery, the small lithium-ion C3 battery and the high-capacity Lithium-ion Battery.

Test One: Distance.  I have a 100 ft wide by 70 ft dog yard.  I wanted a light strong enough to light up all corners of that yard.  the C3 LED light does a great job of this.  In fact it will illuminate trees 300 ft away.  It’s strong enough that I can see rabbits at night from about 250 ft.  It’s plenty bright to work in a dark room, under a sink, outside at night on your car.

Test Two: C3 DieHard Nicad. I plugged in a NiCad pack and turned it on.  With continuous use the light stayed bright for 10 hours!

Test Three: C3 Compact Lithium.  The battery powered the LED light over 12 hours.

Test Four: C3 High Capacity Lithium.  This battery is supposed to give 275% longer run times than the NiCad Pack.  In fact it ran this light 36 HOURS!  Well over the advertised rating.   This is enough so you could take this light camping and your kids can forget to turn it off all weekend.   You can go for weeks using this battery under normal fix and repair work.

Summary:

This is a good light and a great replacement for your old 19.2 worklight.  I highly recommend this light for anyone who uses the Craftsman 19.2 v C3 cordless tools.  Not all Sears stores carry this light yet, but you can easily order it from Sears.com
